The Three Ships - Three very large rocks known locally as THE THREE SHIPS. Each of them has carved on it the name of one of the ships that took part in the Battle of Trafalgar. HMS VICTOR, HMS DEFIANT & HMS SOVERIN. It is believed that they were carved by a local man, John Brightmore in 1810. It is not known why he spelt Sovereign incorrectly
